These bookends were inspired by etchings found on a west african wooden carving. Using this as a template we replicated key elements on these stone bookends. The bookends are first dyed and the design then etched out by hand. No pencil markings are used, the carver simply memorises the design and then etches it using a pen knife...a work of art to hold up your library.
